Excellent results for my daughter on her AP test. She used this guide to study and she went in confident and felt prepared. Test was exactly as the book prepared her for. She was extremely pleased with the test and can't wait to see her results when they come in.

Look this is the standard text for review of this AP course. You can't go wrong with the Kaplan series. I find they are up to date on the testing procedures and the variation in questions from year to year.

Very good book for AP Human Geography test prep however I would recommend the Princeton Review over this book any day.

I agree with much of the previous reviewer's assessments. The drawings are unimpressive, and not accompanied by photographs to prove out the author's techniques. Might be fun to go through his methods: he gives them in an orderly, if boring fashion. I think a beginner would do ok as long as they have other books or people or their own ego to encourage them.

This is just my opinion. I am not telling you not to buy this book as it may be helpful to you. I did get a little guidence on some aspects of portrait drawing, however the author is rather smug and I found I did not really want to work out of it. Not to mention I wasn't all that impressed with the drawings that were in the book. I think a begining drawing student would be intimidated and discouraged by this book. The author comes across in a way that made me feel if I didn't do things his way then I should just throw away my paper and pencils and take up photography (which as far as I'm concerned is an art in itself. I found this book discouraging rather than encouraging. This book is NOT for a beginner. I think most would find it very frustrating. I've been drawing for a few years and I can tell you there are much better books out there. Look at some others before you buy this one.
