After reading Alice Keeler and Libbi Miller's book, I have improved and modern ideas of how to organize and utilize the Google Classroom application to differentiate instruction, give students' choices, have better discussions, communicate effectively with my students, make grading easier, and so much more! My school year hasn't ended yet, and I'm excited to start the new year with the fresh and exciting information delivered in a straightforward, well written manner. If you want to design lessons that incorporate technology, but you are not comfortable with technology, this book is for you! If you are new to Google Apps for Education, this book is for you. If you have used Google Apps for Education, this book is for you! Keeler and Miller give educators in elementary, middle, high school or higher education direction and practical ideas that can be utilized tomorrow!

Book was very easy to read, quite understandable. Step by step process was helpful along with the screenshots. I can see myself being able to implement most of the ideas and came up with other ways of using Classroom as I read through the book.This book would be very helpful for anyone starting with or thinking of using Google Classroom.

If you are new to Google Classroom this book will be a BIG help! If you're advanced or experienced, this book does not offer a lot of new options. Very helpful for anyone just beginning.

This book was pretty good, but most of what is in the book was stuff I had already figured out in 15 minutes of playing around Google Classroom. However, I am a technology teacher, so for people who are very unfamiliar with tech and are afraid to take the plunge, this is a good book to get you through setting up Google Classroom.

I purchased this because I am brand new to Google classroom and thought that this would help. I am disappointed. I find it to be more of a brochure - definitely not the manual that I was hoping for. One of the tech people at school loves his copy - but he knows much more than I. Perhaps as I learn more I can use it but right now it is a paper weight.

Quickly made me familiar with the Google platform, its capabilities, and even some "power" moves with it. I was trying to read it at the end of the evening, and sat awake with my mind started racing about everything I could do in the classroom with Google, so I had to start reading it later in the day!

This is the book for you. Alice Keeler is amazing and all of her suggestions have made using Google Classroom so much easier.

This book is an excellent resource on ways Google Classroom can easily be implemented in any classroom. As an elementary educator (formerly in the special education domain moving back into general Ed) I have seen how valuable Google Classroom is and am looking forward to employing the suggestions in this book. Thank you so much to the incredible authors!

But it's not just a great reference for anyone considering moving to Cozumel. If you just want to find out more information about Cozumel this is the book to read. It definitely provides a much better understanding of how things work the way they do and sometimes even why they work that way. Definitely a book worth reading for anyone who has fallen in love with this island!

If you are considering moving to Cozumel or simply spending time there, this is a must have book! A "news you can use" type. Well thought out, well written. Can't say enough good things about it.

Somewhat disappointing. Many maps (local transportation), are nearly impossible to read. Some completely superfluous information, while missed opportunities to explore some much more useful topics

I have been eating at Taqueria Del Sol for over 15 years so my review might be slightly biased as I clearly like Chef Eddie's food. That said, this cookbook does not disappoint and Chef Eddie doesn't hold back any "secret recipes" from his TDS menu. The book is well constructed with good photograph's (although it could have used a few more in my opinion). The only down side is the added guilt of knowing the ingredients of a couple menu items (I am looking at you Shrimp Corn Chowder). If you enjoy creative Mexican food with a southern twist, this cookbook is a must.Thanks Chef Eddie!

I’m a big fan of the Taqueria del Sol restaurants in Atlanta. The cheese dip, fish & veggie tacos, jalapeño slaw and homemade chips would honestly be my last meal if I had to choose one. When I moved to LA from ATL the thing I missed most was Eddie’s comfort food. I was thrilled to learn of this new cookbook and it doesn’t disappoint. Recipes for all my favorites are there. The photos are gorgeous and Eddie’s charming personality is stamped on each page. Highly recommended!

Tonight I made the chicken enchiladas with lemon cream sauce. The family was skeptical until they tried it - it was a big hit. Lots of flavor without being spicy. I also made the Veggie Refried Beans and loved them; lots of flavor. I made the Roasted Tomatillo Sauce and it was way too hot; but the recipe was very simple so I'm just going to try it again with fewer chiles. I like that there are lots of recipes for "basics," like various kinds of salsas and sauces and taco fillings; you can put them together in whatever way you want in addition to the combinations listed in the book.As another reviewer mentioned, it was disheartening to learn that the thing that makes the Corn Chowder served in the restaurant so delicious is huge amounts of cream. :-) (Although it should not really have been a surprise.) But most of the recipes are delicious without being decadent. And some of the complex recipes have elements that can be made in advance. For example, the chicken enchiladas with lemon cream sauce can have all the parts made on Sunday and then be quickly assembled and baked on a weeknight. And I love that that recipe makes tons of delicious chicken broth to go with the chicken filling. I made all these things on Sunday and now I'm just going to spend the week trying out various combinations.

If you're a fan of Taqueria del Sol in Atlanta, you'll love reading, cooking, and eating your way through this delightful book while learning more about Chef Eddie Hernandez and his culinary journey. And if you've never heard of Taqueria del Sol, that's perfectly fine. This cookbook still rocks the Mexican-Southern cuisine world - straightforward recipes, detailed notes, and delicious results. Some of my favorites include the jalapeño-cheese dip, turnip greens, breakfast muffins, meatloaf, and cheese enchiladas. The chapter on salsas, sauces, relishes, and condiments is worth the purchase price alone. Looking for a new twist on traditional comfort food? Be sure to check out the recipe for Eddie's chicken-green tortilla potpie in puffy tortilla shells.

Finally someone gets it that Southern and Mexican food are not as foreign to each other as the two cultures might believe! I personally have thought the two cuisine could make a perfect marriage. Love Eddie's story of life, living on the edge makes one open to more possibility. Maybe he could do something with leftover holiday meals, like turkey and gravy tacos? I am not joking! I think it would be awesome to learn his methods! Thank you for gracing the South with a different kind of sass!

Turnip Greens & Tortillas is a MUST BUY for any Atlantan (or non-Atlantan) who loves Taqueria del Sol and loves Chef Eddie Hernandez. The shrimp corn chowder is going to be perfect for cold fall nights this year and I love the Memphis taco. Thanks Eddie!!

Some cookbooks are worth owning because the photography is incredible. If you're lucking, you'll find a few recipes that are as mouthwatering as their photos. But, every now and then, you run across a book that is beautiful to look at, but is a collection of simply fabulous recipes. Everything I've made so far has been scrumptious and I can't wait to continue to work through these recipes. The authors have managed to take the best of two wonderful cuisines to create something new and really pretty awesome. I plan on gifting it to a whole slew of fellow foodies!

OMG! Eddie is amazing. I am so thrilled that he came out with a cookbook. I have already made the chicken tacos - a first request from my daughter - and the family loved them. He has so many of his coveted recipes in here. I can't wait to make them all! And what a character too. I love reading this cookbook - as crazy as that sounds.

It is a nice advertisement for those with too much money to clap themselves on the back by paying exorbitant contractors to build a house with a loose definition of something green. Not sure what the author did but source other's work and put it in a binding. I doubt there is an original thought or idea anywhere in the book. Basically the author went to a home show, talked with few architect firms /builders and had them provide a nice summary of their project with pics. Thoroughly disappointed and will donate it.

I'm very interested in some-day building a prefab modern home so I bought this book to see some more examples and to try to get an overview of the current state of the industry. There are a lot of nice example houses in this book and there are some nice technical asides that get into detail about certain technologies and government programs that are good to know about.On the downside, nothing in this book is too in-depth, and there is an annoying tendency in the modern prefab industry to talk about their houses as being somehow affordable for most people, but I've never once seen that as a reality. As much as I'd love to believe that building one of these houses could be cost-effective, the only thing I can really find are examples of wealthy people patting themselves on the back and overpaying for energy efficiency and "non-toxic" building materials. I'd like to see more sources in this industry really get down to the nitty-gritty of the cost-efficiencies involved and rely less on what I see as empty eco-marketing .

A good sampling of alternative ways to build an energy efficient home. It also includes mostly examples of houses that look like conventional houses, not shipping crates. They do have very modern styled homes as well. It covers modular building, prefab panels, SIPS and metal framing. The writing is at a level that it is easily understood by me, a laymen with limited house building background. I liked her other book, prebabulous small houses, but I liked this one better

The path to energy independence can be considered as either A) demand reduction with shelter from rising energy costs and reduced fossil fuel dependence, or B) as a solution during power outages, or C) living entirely disconnected from the grid. One review of this book seems to insinuate that the book should require that projects include renewable energy, with which I disagree. As a professional in the industry the goal we target is typically A (similar to the book), rather than B or C, and sometimes involves renewable energy, but often just plans for renewable energy in the future. The path typically involves three steps. First, plan for conservation by using a very tight, super insulated building shell while considering all the related passive attributes (shading, orientation, etc). Second, select exceptionally efficient versions of the systems in the home that consume energy, including heating, cooling, hot water, lighting, appliances, and ventilation. And then third, add renewable energy systems to offset the consumption.The first and second steps need to be implemented when the home is constructed, if at all possible. A later retrofit of these aspects is far less cost effective, and often not practical. Renewable energy however, is very possible to add to an existing home, and typically less cost effective than the first two steps during new construction. With limited examples of exceptional energy performance available in the marketplace, as I read about homes in this book that are on the path to energy independence with a superinsulated building shell, efficient systems, and either renewables in place or plans for renewables, I found the common thread to be very satisfying. It's important to keep priorities straight and the book delivers.

This book is full of nice pictures of wonderful houses. It is definitely inspirational. You can discover many ideas. In general this is not a book for finding detailed actionable information. Aside from the inspiration I found, I think the design could use a bit of improvement. I read this on a Kindle and I don't like having to go back and forth between the body of the book and the back of the book to match the details listed in the resources section with the photos and descriptions of each house in the body. I think a better design would be to integrate the resources more tightly on the same pages.This book was a good value to me for the inspiration I found. I saw several houses in which I would want to live, and I would enjoy seeing even more houses and more pictures.

Having worked with Sheri Koones to get the data for our project, I can tell you she was more then thorough, asked great questions about the technology, the design, and the intent of the project. The result is a very detailed, accurate and informative snapshot of an ever changing pre-fab industry.For anyone looking to lessen the impact of building, maintaining, and living in a home, this book gives great insight into the rapidly increasing variety of designs, pre-fab building techniques, and choices available a potential home buyer looking for new, better, (sometimes) less expensive, ways to create a very livable home. No longer does manufactured housing mean a simple colonial house with 8' ceilings and boxy rooms.As much as every pre-fab maker wants to standardize their product, almost no one wants a 'standard plan' house. Everyone wants changes, additions, modifications to suit their individual needs and preferences. Every customer wants, or depending upon climate and location, needs a different level of 'energy' or 'green' features for their particular home and site. Sherri's efforts to show the wide variety of designs and building techniques now available from pre-fab manufacturers and forward thinking developers is admirable.For anyone looking to build or learn more about what's currently available in the pre-fab world, I highly recommend you start your journey with this highly informative, well written book.

They are able to do this because they lobby and contribute to politicians who appoint industry friendly candidates to regulatory agencies, allow add-on costs, such as surcharges equipment or services that don't exist, and company threats to move out of town or the state unless they are forgiven state taxes for years or even decades.One of the more insidious breaches of consumer rights is arbitration, once only used in contracts between companies. They are in the contracts you make when buying a car, getting a home equity loan, or the franchise you buy. It keeps you from suing. To make things worse, you must submit to arbitration on the home turf of the company or bank even if it means it's across the country before an arbitrator they have probably used many times before, and to whom you must pay a heafty percentage if he or she rules in your favor.While these companies market themselves as restrained by regulation, they in fact make regulation work in their behalf. With government sanction and blessing, they have made the consumer pay more for every conceivable service, real or imagined. They are not interested in an unfettered free market because their prices would have to come down, and they are only interested in maintaining their "pricing," a euphemism for profit.David Cay Johnston elevates a book of mundane facts to the status of a thriller. It's a thriller because it has a plot, in fact many of them, of companies that can bring their financial might to bear to rob you blind. He weaves these stories like a suspense novel only it is sickeningly real.Fortunately, "The Fine Print" isn't in fine print. It's one reason why you need to read this.

I bought this book after it's author was a guest on Bill Maher's Real Time. Written in layman terms, it explains a lot about why things are the way they are, and how they came to be that way. We are introduced to the railroads in a way that offers a very different perspective than I suspect most people have. From there we look at a number of the common elements of our society: cable television, garbage services and other typical services. One might want to brand the author as a liberal, but he merely recites facts and information sources that are pretty difficult to argue with, and in the end he really doesn't take sides. I think this is a book everyone should read.

Mr. Johnston is a financial investigative reporter. This is his third book. The first two were "Perfectly Legal" and "Free lunch". He has appeared in a documentary and is often interviewed on news channels relative to financial matters. Now about this new book, if anything it was more depressing than the first two. In chapter after chapter he spells out the mismanagement of our tax dollars not only at the Federal level but also State. It was very hard to read. I could only take a chapter at a time. I would put it down and start again another day. The money being given to politicians is mind boggling and the largess given in return inflates the profits, particularly of the largest corporations by providing ways to hide profits so little or no taxes are paid. One issue happened in 2004. The corporations that had moved American jobs to China and elsewhere were required to pay 35% tax on profits but only when returned to America. The Congress in its wisdom granted them a special tax of 5%. The bill was called "the Jobs Creation Act of 2004". It was passed with 205 out of 221 Republicans and 75 of 199 Democrats. The corporations brought home $312 Billion. While there was a promise of American jobs, nowhere in the bill did it specify nor was there any provision to monitor. In actual fact thousands were laid off. As an example Pfizer closed whole factories. The workforce at the end of 2004 was 115,000. By 2009 it was down to 75,000. Hewlett- Packard immediately fired 14,000 employees. Other industries did the same. Astonishing that such a disgrace could occur under the guise of helping American workers. Believe it or not in 2012 these same corporations have accumulated $1 Trillion in untaxed profits. I am well aware that consideration is being made to repeat this once again which will deny proper tax payments and destroy several hundred thousand more jobs. Once again it will be the Republican Party most in favor. Regardless of who becomes President, this will be approved. Keep in mind that all the while American manufacturers producing in America pay 35%. Can you not see how wrong this is? There are specific chapters about abuses in pipe lines, railroads, waste removal, telecommunications, film production, etc. Each time he clearly states the facts which beg for correction. His final chapter is entitled "Solutions". The most important concerns the 2010 Supreme Court decision to grant corporations unlimited expenditures to influence elections. He particularly chastises Chief Justice Roberts for giving them vast new rights. He mentions previous bad decisions by the Court such as the Dred Scott decision that stated that slaves were not persons protected by the Constitution. He pleads that the Congress take action to overturn or that new justices might reverse. Since the decision was 5 to 4 that could happen but in the meantime untold damage will have occurred to our election system. I will end here by imploring others to read this and his other two books and do what you can to restore a Congress that truly cares about American workers.Jack B. WaltersOctober 10, 2012

This book was very Helpful, for it's time. When I was first diagnosed over 10 yrs ago, this book and the supplements it suggests, helped me tremendously. Three years ago I got to the point that nothing seemed to help, including more surgeries. My gyno suggested a Nova Sure Ablation procedure, after two really rough years with my endo., I was more than ready to give it a shot. I had the surgery last July, as an out patient procedure. It took a good three months to heal completely and feel like I had made the right decision with absolute certainty. Now, almost a year later, I can say without a doubt getting the Nova Sure done was the very best decision I have ever made. I have not had any pain or bleeding in months. Also, no more periods- yay! Keep in mind, I am forty four, and done having babies. They usually tie your tubes with this procedure, since getting pregnant afterwards can be dangerous. Just wanted to share my experience in hopes that it might help someone find the relief I have found.

This book will tell you things about the human body you didn't know about. This book is purely amazing. My mom got it since we both thought that I had endometriosis since I was having so much pain in my pelvis.In 2007 I had a small 2cm cyst on my right ovary and it had grown to 7cm by 2012. I had to have surgery to remove it. I got this book and I think it did go into cysts. This book goes into the importance of diet and I can't remember if this book touches on the dangers of too much soy in the diet (it can act like estrogen).I found out I do not have any endometriosis, but my cyst was entangled in my right ovary and it had to be removed. I can't imagine the pain women are going through with endometriosis. I know I was doubling over for a good 2 weeks in Aug 2012, due to the tangling. But that was only for 2 weeks and then Oct 2012 I had it removed. I felt so much better after surgery. I think this book does go into surgery. It has been almost a year since I read this book but if you want to understand what your wife or girlfriend is going through, read this book. Any woman would want this book if she thinks she has endometriosis.

I am in the process of being diagnosed and was looking for detailed info on the entire process. This book has a lot of knowledge and information in it, but my issue with it is I don't appreciate a book that says for more info on this or that buy our other book. I have an appointment with a specialist in a week and had time to get through one book not 2 so I picked the newer one thinking it would be most up-to-date and shield it had a lot of helpful info I also felt it lacked more details on things and the authors knew it did because they said for details read our other book- frustrating for me.

Ehhh! Could hardly continue reading it as most of the information suggests potent pharmaceuticals and synthetic hormones. I was hoping it would include the use and successes of bioidentical progesterone. As many know, estrogen dominance is the root of endo and other female issues. I'll give it two stars, tops!

I highly recommend this book along with the Endometriosis Sourcebook as a starting point for those suffering from endometriosis. It deals with the whole person and has a tremendous amount of information about the disease.

As a financial planner (and soon to be CFP), Jamie's book is spot on. It has common sense strategies and specific tactics to ensure that people can take control of their retirement, and not be bound by popular but misguided thinking that a happy retirement must be tied to the stock market.A recurring theme, which I use with my clients, is to make sure necessary expenses are covered by guaranteed income (Social Security and pensions) and discretionary expenses covered by savings and investments. If there are no pensions - likely the case as they are endangered species - then create one with income annuities.Delaying Social Security for higher benefits if possible is another great tactic. And having a plan for a likely long term care event is also something most wealth advisors conveniently ignore.His step by step approach is in English, easy to understand and I am ordering it for many of my planning clients and siblings!

This short book is a quick and precise look at retirement from a number of different angles. It's not just financial in nature. It also includes the psychological aspects ("rewirement") and considers important life considerations such as housing. This should be the first book to look at before you go through the more formal process of retirement planning

An excellent and well thought out book offering detailed concepts and facts on achieving and maintaining adequate income during the retirement years. Explores both advantages and risks of various methods used in generating income in retirement. A good source to keep on hand for continual reference material during the retirement years. It's obvious the author is very confident of the material presented, and presents it in a clear and concise manner.

The author clearly introduces and explains the challenges of retirement. He introduces and explains various options retirees and pre-retirees should recognize and be prepared to deal with. He does a good job in increasing confidence that middle class Americans will have enough options to live comfortably in retirement. No one book can cover all the issues of retirement. I recommend this book as a good starting that offers advice that can be followed by all readers.

I am a graduate of the American College programs specifically the Retirement Income Certified Professional and Jamie is a faculty member. His insight, thought provoking thinking is a must read. It practical and useful in my practice.

Mr. Hopkins does a wonderful job clearly and concisely explaining a bevy of complex retirement and general financial planning concepts. I've often felt cripplingly daunted when tending to my finances but Mr. Hopkins has a knack for unpacking and demystifying these principles. I would recommend Rewirement to anyone seeking to cultivate a better understanding of financial planning.

Jamie's small book is comprehensive, lucid and well written. He covers bases that people may not have contemplated.It is an excellent guide for those approaching or in retirement.
