It has common sense strategies and specific tactics to ensure that people can take control of their retirement, and not be bound by popular but misguided thinking that a happy retirement must be tied to the stock market.A recurring theme, which I use with my clients, is to make sure necessary expenses are covered by guaranteed income (Social Security and pensions) and discretionary expenses covered by savings and investments. If there are no pensions - likely the case as they are endangered species - then create one with income annuities.Delaying Social Security for higher benefits if possible is another great tactic. And having a plan for a likely long term care event is also something most wealth advisors conveniently ignore.His step by step approach is in English, easy to understand and I am ordering it for many of my planning clients and siblings!

The author clearly introduces and explains the challenges of retirement. He introduces and explains various options retirees and pre-retirees should recognize and be prepared to deal with. He does a good job in increasing confidence that middle class Americans will have enough options to live comfortably in retirement. No one book can cover all the issues of retirement. I recommend this book as a good starting that offers advice that can be followed by all readers.

I am a graduate of the American College programs specifically the Retirement Income Certified Professional and Jamie is a faculty member. His insight, thought provoking thinking is a must read. It practical and useful in my practice.

Mr. Hopkins does a wonderful job clearly and concisely explaining a bevy of complex retirement and general financial planning concepts. I've often felt cripplingly daunted when tending to my finances but Mr. Hopkins has a knack for unpacking and demystifying these principles. I would recommend Rewirement to anyone seeking to cultivate a better understanding of financial planning.

Jamie's small book is comprehensive, lucid and well written. He covers bases that people may not have contemplated.It is an excellent guide for those approaching or in retirement.

i've been so tired of hearing people tell me that climate change has no bearing on our fire seasons, i went in search of good reading material on the subject. this is a beautiful book. well thought out, precise with measured thought and consideration. i so badly want to present the book to those who would argue what this book presents, but i don't want to part with the book. it's one i will read more than once.

The long term effects of the continued burning of North Americas timberland are outlined for the reader. If causes the reader to ponder the information given in the book long after one has read it. This is a good book.

This book is so excellent it should be a text book. I learned so much. Thank you.

Really well written, easy to read style , very informative. This book brings to light the unfortunate truth of wild fire in the west.

Wildfire season is burning longer and hotter, affecting more and more people, especially in the west.”More academic than entertaining, this is a valuable asset for firefighters as well as those interested in wildland fire. If you live in the woods or anywhere near them, I highly recommend you read this. Not necessarily to understand fires, but to see what exactly is involved. Living out in the country myself, Ii’m grateful that I chose to read this book. Very informative. Easy to understand. If you know nothing about the science of fires, you will learn a great deal after reading this book. This is a book for anyone that wants to obtain a deeper understanding of fires. It explores the science behind fires and the research being done to find a solution. You'll learn about the heroic efforts of those responsible for fighting fire, how years of fire suppression and chronic drought have combined to make the situation more dire, and how nature reacts in the aftermath of flames. Color photographs throughout reveal the beauty and terror of fire and the stunning effect it has on the landscape. Land on Fire is for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of our time of fire. Ferguson writes extremely well and makes his subject both accessible and easy to understand in terms of cause and effect. His photographs are stunning in themselves, and aid understanding. He explains, for instance, how foresters in the past took stances that encouraged the build-up of brush until massive fires could not be stopped and only a few major trees with thick bark remained. The forests in general would benefit from occasional smaller fires burning off old deadwood and litter, making it into nutrients and allowing seeds to sprout in clearings. But the North American continent is drying and warming. He shows that the extended fire season and continued over-abstraction of freshwater have combined to guarantee stands of dying trees and massive fires blazing for months. Lightning and human activity, including downed power lines, are the main causes of fires.We also learn about Standing Firefighting Orders, and forensic fire science. That means tracing how a fire started, what caused it to spread and what fanned or enabled it. Ladder trees, jumping crown fires, flying sparks and valleys all play a part. We learn how to protect a house against such fires well in advance. I'm really glad that the experts in this extraordinary field are able to publish their knowledge so we can all benefit. Since it was put out by Lonely Planet, I really wanted to see this one, but am not all that thrilled. Many pictures are very busy, hard to figure out, and intense to color, while others are just not all that pretty. Instead of a drawing of the Mona Lisa to represent France, a sketch of the Louvre itself to color would have appealed to me more. But, it is still nice to take a coloring book tour through some of the most remarkable places on earth.

This is a very cool adult coloring book. Excellent scenes/historical places. Can't wait to begin coloring. The scenes aren't too simple or complex for coloring. Some get so detailed they make my eyes hurt, but not this one. I like how unique this coloring book is. This isn't the usual topic for a coloring book.

Bought this for my dad for his birthday. He loves it! He and my mom are world travelers and they love looking at the pictures from all over the world and talking about where they've been and where they'll go next. It was the perfect gift for him!

Lame. Nothing in this book to color. It’s like a sketch book. A total waste of money. They need to show more pics of the inside.

Like sketches of pix from around the globe. Bought for my step granddaughter to use to hone her skills w/ colors.

I was really excited to get this, but so disappointed when it arrived. The pictures are terrible, it’s hard to actually tell what somethings are, nevermind being able to color them. It is just so poorly done. I never use it because the pictures are so confusing, you can’t tell what to color, when lines end, what is what. I hate it. I wouldn’t suggest this to anyone.

Great product! The locations included are the "Top 25" from some list of best places to visit. Can't wait to use it!

Fun gift for a coworker who loves to travel. The pages are nice and big with lots details to color on them.
